T/C Triumph Bone Collector

I was wondering if anyone has used this gun before? I am considering a muzzleloader, but somebody told me this gun was illegal in Washington?  He said he didnt know why but he had heard that rumor before... Is it legal? and does anyone have any experience with this weapon?

Never have...  most inlines are illegal for hunting in Washington because they a) are for 209 shotgun primer ignition only, or b) do not expose the ignition system to the weather (both look to be true for this gun).  There are a variety of modern and traditional guns legal in Washington-- most Hawken-type guns, various Knight inline models, the T/C Northwest Explorer, and some CVA and Traditions offerings.

Your best bet is to head somewhere like Bob's in Longview (all muzzies on sale at the moment, BTW), where they will sell you something legal at a good price.  Avoid online sources or national chains like Cabela's, where you may buy something that will earn you a ticket in the field.

No, it is not legal because it has a closed breech.  Must be exposed in Washington and Oregon.  Here's a link showing the T/C models.  You will notice the only exposed breech model listed that is legal in Washington is the very bottom one, the Northwest Edition.  Bone Collector is in the Triumph series.

For what it's worth....get a Knight Bighorn.  Breech plug interchanges from 209 ignition (not legal) to musket or percussion cap, which is legal.  Great guns and come in various configurations....stainless, blued, camo etc.

Another option....Knight Wolverine.  Same as Bighorn.  Scaled down version...shorter barrel.  Everything interchanges between Bighorn and Wolverine...barrel, stocks etc.  I guess you could say a Wolverine is a short Bighorn.

If you want a T/C find an older Renegade in .54 caliber.  Wood stocked, great muzzle loader for both deer and elk.

The Bone Collector is not legal for ML hunting in Washington, Oregon, or Idaho.

An excellent rifle that you might look at is a Knight DISC Extreme with a Western Kit installed.  With this rifle you would be legal in all three states and if you wanted to hunt in other places with 209 Ignition and Scopes - you would have the rifle that will do that also.

Don't forget about the Winchester X-150.... It's legal for WA and ID.....    I have one.... Love it!!!!

The T/C Black Diamond is also legal and has all 3 ignition systems. Comes in stainless also but I don't know if they still make them or not.

Not illegal...you just can't use it during the MLer season. You can throw a scope on it and use it during regular gun season if you want.

The T/C Black Diamond is also legal and has all 3 ignition systems. Comes in stainless also but I don't know if they still make them or not.

No longer made...but a really good gun for Wa. I have the Stainless XR in 50 cal.

Just got me a CVA Elkhorn Pro at Cabelas.  Just have to make sure you know what your looking at or get someone with some knowledge.  It is on sale right now too.
