Hello,I noticed late archery deer is on till Dec 31. Now that my son is out of school for break I would love to take him out and try and get a deer since he missed early season. I have not hunted this unit before and have no idea where I actually can hunt with so much private land. Can you hunt places like Tiger MT ? It would be great to get out for day hunts during these next two weeks. If anyone can give me some idea's I would appreciate it.Thanks in advance,Fulla
Most powerlines are legal to hunt as long as they are not in the city limits... So the powerlines on the south side of tiger is a good spot and there is some good bucks there... Remember the unit goes all the way to enumclaw there is tons of ground in this unit
Most of Tiger Mtn is public and huntable. There are some monster blacktails also.
as much land as should be huntable, there isn't much that actually is. Thank the county for all the natural areas that we can't even afford to maintain and yet restrict its uses.
Correct me if I'm wrong but most of tiger mountains public land is park and thus not huntable. There is maybe 1% of the public being huntable and that was found doing some research and crossing the raging to get into it. When I'm talking tiger mtn, I'm talking the chunk of land north and west of 18, south of 90 and east of the issaquah hobart. Look on the king county parcel viewer. Anything owned by the county in that area is state park or natural area. A lot more public access on the taylor mtn side(south) of 18. Have to be careful not to go to far south because you'll either end up in the cedar river watershed or the taylor mtn natural area which is right off the 18 ramps in hobart. I grew up around this area and for as much land as should be huntable, there isn't much that actually is. Thank the county for all the natural areas that we can't even afford to maintain and yet restrict its uses.
I personally like being by myself when I hunt and constantly running into people (non-hunters) is not my idea of a fun hunt.
