Wow ! I can't help with recommendations since I'm brand new to waterfowling, but just wanted to congrats on the opportunity! I'm sure you'll have a blast! Never had goose, but the duck I've eaten was awesome :)

Well it's no limit, but my first goose. We went out today and had several opportunities, but who would have thought it was so hard to hit a flying duck or goose. I nail grouse all the time! :) Anyway had a great time, learned to set out decoys and did some calling. Actually called this group in myself and finally got one. I may be hooked.

Any sugestions on cooking now?

Marinate it for a day in some soy, sherry olive oil, garlic, Adolph's Natural meat tenderizer, and pepper. Grill 'em or broil 'em wrapped in bacon. Serve with brown gravy. Oh yeah, baby.

Congrats on your first goose. Remember that they always seem closer than they are. If you're not knocking them down, chances are you need them to come in closer.

Yep, I am hooked. Just picked up a bunch of decoys, calls , several new boxes of shells, new camo pattern, looked at a layout blind......
