Cowlitz Crack Pipe 1/2
« on: January 02, 2012, 04:58:45 PM »
Son and I fished the Cow a the crack pipe from about 4:30 AM - 10 AM.  We went 0 -2...  I am not sure if our drag is too tight.  Most of all the fish that I saw taken out of there were summer run (black belly)  Still had fun...

One dude came really close to the banky's and wondered why he was getting tangled.  One banky dumped his entire rigging into a guides boat.  That was pretty funny as well.  I yelled get closer I cannot cast that far.  I do not think we was amused with my comment.

No brad at all.  I had one on with a float the rest were with drift gear. 'I have a mix bag of poles right now with my son fishing with me and me breaking one of his rods I do not have enough to set up a float and a drift rod with light weight.

Light weight drift fishing is crappy with a bait caster LOL!!!  Or I suck casting it...  When I say light weight the weight is only 1/4 - 1/8oz or less.

Yep, it is fun to fish from there.   How would you like to pay 110 dollars for a guide on the cowlitz to fish about 300 yards of the boat launch for the most of the day.

So the float with 10 lb mono was not a good idea.  But they were not biting on the corky's that I had.  So I went with number 2 hooks, number 14 corky or a single number 10 or two 14's trying to mix it up.

I usually run 30 lb high vis brad on my mainline for float fishing.  But I could not...
