Trap Plans
« on: January 07, 2012, 05:08:36 PM »
Does anyone have or know of a place where i can get plans or instructions on how to make homemade traps? I have access to big breaks for bending the wire and a welder for the frame just need some sort of direction for making the mechaninsm to spring the trap. Im sure i could tinker with it and figure it out just dont want to waste materials on trial and error.

You could buy one and copy the process.

Hannible makes some pretty good cages I hear, he's probably one to give better advice than me.

I'm just making the colonies.

just coons and maybe some bobcats. I have to take the trapping course before i can start but i figure in the mean time i could work on getting some materials and building some traps while im waiting. maybe enen some colony traps for musk rats. i figure it would probably be cheaqper to make them than it would be to buy them, and it gives me something to do on slow days at work.

A good resource for places to get trapping info is in a magazine called "Fur Fish & Game".  Hard to find, but a good mag.  I subscribed to it when I was a kid (a looooong time ago).  My uncle gave me some back issues, and they should get here wednesday with the rest of the stuff I UPS'd to myself.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"
