wheres the good spots out here? im in tri-cities and lookin for some land with some hungry yotes. any good spots that arent privatly owned or if you know some farmers that are cool with coyote hunting on their land.

Nothing to do with street cred.  It should be very easy to get permission to hunt yotes.  People are just suggesting you go scout like everyone else instead of asking for directions on the interwebz.  Perhaps if you ask for a starting place, such as a suggestion for a general area, you might have more luck...

i'll give you a general area,... go look for feel free to hunt signs by the hills south of kennewick.  i see yotes out there all the time and my wife sees them almost every day on the way to work.

ive done my fair share of scouting and knocking on doors. i am here because that hasnt paid off much lately... seriously, just cause i didnt get into detail on my status of hunting you guys think i havent tried the obvious routes first. nevermind my original question at this point. so much for starting friendly conversation.

I don't live in your area... you got one spot to check out... Just remember that when you ask you need to knock on lots of doors, expect  plenty of no's, and make sure you approach potential  landowners professionally. I know i have had lots of no's due to concern about equipment or cattle because of some other jack wagon.  Make sure to show you have roots/responsibility so that you not just some yahoo that is gona come in and shoot the place up...

Hang in there man, People here get a little jumpy. We do get a TON of people who draw permits for areas they have never been to that are asking where the animals are, give it some time, you will be okay.

I've seen a ton of yotes both west and east of tricities.  Tons all the way out towards Pomeroy and beyond.  Tons in the sage west out to Yakima and south to the river.  I don't know any specific landowners until you get out towards Pullman, but never had a hard time getting tons of permission by simply knocking on doors and being polite.  There is also a lot of public land once you get west of Yakima.  Maybe check the public areas along the snake (corp of engineers, etc.).

I didn't mean to be an ass!  we just see a lot of first timers who don't even introduce themselves and expect info for honey holes. Saw a TON of yotes near pomeroy, Dayton, Starbuck and Dodge this year! A TON!

  Coffin road, head east on it from 395 and see what you can find, you won't be disappointed.

I find this to be a very interesting site, seems like you have a few that monitor it all the time and jump on anyone new to it, when you do the obvious and ask for suggestions... seems like they want to brand you as being new, and wanting to know everyone's honey holes....(how narrow minded is that?)..... I found it to be very disappointing and yet now its a funny read from time to time, with a few serious guys on here that are worth reading there input. Just remember 10% of the hunters get 90% of the game, it seems like everyone here thinks there in that 10%...
Probably shouldn't post this but after my experience on here I'll never ask another question.....

I think it usually has a lot to do whit how that kind of question is asked... The first time you meet some one and find out they are a land owner do you invite yourself and everyone you knoww to go hunt?   I don't kill 90% of the game, but know  acouple that do and SCOUTING is the main key to thier sucess. You can have all the  gear and knowledge but until you wear out some boot leather your not gona get close...

This site can be about post numbers at times, it you have only a handful of posts, nobody knows you and you want info handed to you you will usually get the door closed in your face.

I used to live in Kennewick and did my yote hunting at Easter Day Farms south of Finley on Finley road. It’s a check in/out feel free to hunt private farm. They will probably have cattle grazing now.

WOW No need to be secretive about yotes 

Go out the Pasco Kahlotus highway turn left on the snake river road (just before star school) go about three miles turn left on East blackman ridge, go to the top and look to the right lots of land with dogs and canyons out there and if that don't work follow that road till it turns to the right and stay on it till you cross overturf. after crossing overturf look to the right that holds dogs too. That is about 3000 acres of FFTH that will get you started  While your looking for these spots (especially north of the second location) keep you eyes open for FFTH signs theres alot of them out there  Just remember the closer you get to the river the less signs you'll find    you can't hunt all the spots i just told you in one day  Have fun and share some pics and photos!

they way i found spots was putting in the time. i dpont know how many miles or how much gas was spent driving every back round around here loooking for spots. ive found some close by and some not so close by but it all started with getting in the car and driving around looking for FFTH signs. knocked on doors got lots of NO a couple yes and some maybes. but it took a while to figure it out. theres FFTH land everywhere YOU just have to put in some time and some miles.

 This is my first year hunting, and I can't tell you guys how many miles I've walk, or how many places I've been. Just looking for yotes. Made some new freinds, and have a short list of contacts now.  Only way to do that, is to get out and do it.

We have all done that! But what your telling me is this guy can't get a break because you put miles and miles in looking for spots  Trust me I hate spot stalkers as much as that next guy! but it gets old after awhile everytime a person asks a question everyone get their panties all bunched up! Hell I don't even ask for help on here  What does that tell you for our hunting community!  Maybe I'm just to nice

now I dindt say i was opposed me or anyone else helping. i simply stated what i went through. and well when they guy gets his panties in a bunch over the first couple comments it makes me think that hes just looking for someone to hand him some land instead of putting in the footwork. alot of people see hunting shows and think its just as easy as going out blowing on the call and pulling the trigger. if it was that easy everyone would do it.  im always looking for new places because you can only hunt the places you know so many times and if its public then who knows how much or who else is hunting them when im not. again FFTH land is out there ya just have to look. the county auditor i believe has maps with land owners names and adresses to ask on private land. put in the footwork and effort and it will pay off.

I looked at all this on my map app in my phone and it has no color designation. Who actually owns all this land?

What is FTTH?

On my maps just barely sw of there, I have yellow sections that state in the key "Public Lands and Monuments" (Cabelas Recon Hunt). Also in red letters says " WA Deer/ELK 381 Kahlotus". We have a couple really good map guys on here, hopefully someone knows what all this means.

I dont have an iphone.

 I don't want to go drive to an area that is private own land, and that is what the phone indicated. If I knew what FTTH was, then I may then be able to determine why the land has no color designation on my map. I am trying to be a responsible hunter, and not hunt anything in a place where it is illegal. Therefore I am scouting areas to go drive in.

I live in Pasco and I would say don't waste your time. You should really look into other areas to hunt there are NO coyotes over here. I would look into some where on the west side.  I hope this helps.

The only way to find spots for coyotes is to drive, look for feel free to hunt signs, and then hike and look for coyotes and coyote sign. If youre afraid of going on some drives and burning a bunch of gas then coyote hunting is definetly not for you!!!!!!!!!!

There is a crap load of feel free to hunt land between Pasco and Kahlotus. Just drive the old Kahlotus Hwy and you will see the FFTH signs all over. Take a side road and find more signs. I have spent an entire day just driving the Hwy and back roads mapping out all the FFTH land. I was surprised to see just how much FFTH land there really is.

I am heading over tonight to hunt in Royal City. My Uncle called and said the well is not working at the trailer, so i have that to look forward to. Gonna try to call some into the trailer tonight with the kitten calls on the foxpro and get one with the Pulsar N550 Night sight.
