When I was 8-10 years old my dad used to take my brothers and me hunting up in the high country for elk. It was one of those memories that I will never forget. It was also a shame that when we got into high school we stopped going because we just got too busy. Now that my dad is retired and my respect for hunting and the outdoors have never been higher the opportunity that I received today is definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity.
I helped my brother get hunter certified and talked my dad into getting back into hunting about 3 months ago. Next I started a special hunt lottery group.
We all bought our licenses and put in for 4 deer hunts and 4 elk hunt drawing lotteries.
The chances of us getting drawn were about 5-1000.
However the hunting gods were shinning on my dad, my brother and I today.
We are headed for as very prestige's ELK HUNT in the RIM ROCK area. From OCT-20th to NOV. 2nd.
I can't believe we actually got drawn and now comes the fun part.
