AK bull moose pics, up close!
« on: January 16, 2012, 06:41:40 PM »
I was out checking my trapline yesterday and I had a little bull come up really close to me. I wasn't sure if I should take pics or have my 44 up and ready for a charge. I took the pics he didn't look to upset with me ;)

Not a monster but really cool! he got within 5yds of me! I was partially behind a tree at that point. I think he could smell my trapping lure and was interested in it  :dunno:

enjoy!
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Even a 'little' bull moose has the potential to be a big problem.  Cool pics!

I would say his shoulder was almost 6'-7' up. Some of my shots I felt like I was looking up at him when he got really close  :chuckle: Trust me I was very aware of his actions and I had one hand on my pistol the entire time. The only reason we ended up so close to each other was I was bent over working a set and I herd/felt something behind me. He had snuck up on me. Like I said I think he could smell my trapping bucket. I seen his tracks hiking in so I had been looking for him, with that said I hate that feeling when you know something is really close behind you  :bash: I just got up really slow and put a very large tree between us before I got the camera out of the pack.

Most the bulls in my area have already dropped. Some of you have seen the pics of the sheds I got a couple weeks ago on my line.

If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.
