.44 MAG. REVOLVER

Anyone have the; .44 MAG. REVOLVER Taurus International Mfg Inc? I'm looking into getting around around this price range ($549.99) if you have one, how do you feel about it?

I have shot a lot of the bigger handguns. I am a avid handgun hunter and shooter. I have several of there handguns, I run a 454 casull from them a lot. It has been a great gun for me and I like it a lot. I have not shot that gun. Another 44 I really like is the super black hawk. Great shooting gun as well. If I was going to buy another one any time soon I would get the 460 sw. I have a bud that has one and the 500. I love that you can shoot 454 45 and 460 shells threw it and it shoots great.

I have had 2 44 mags raging bulls from Taurus and I won't be buying another. First one, the barrel blew in half, second, the cylinder started free spinning after a few shots.  I know I probably had lemons cause I have heard good things about taurus, but that's my experience with em and I always like hearing about bad reviews when I buy a new gun.  Hope your experience is better than mine.

I LOVE my super blackhawk, but its a longer barrel than that one.

Wow that is crazy! I have many rds down range with mine and never had a problem in my 454. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. They have a great warrenty on them I hope they took care of you.

The Ruger Super Redhawk is about as stout and well built as they get. Even with thousands of smoking hot hand loads I have had them stay tight while a S&W 629 rattles like a box of BB's when you shake it after such punishment. Rugers warranty deptament is tops, I had a friend shoot one of his hand loads and blow the case ejector assembly off of his Stainless Blackhawk. It was a used gun to start with, second hand no box, cash deal, from a friend of friend etc. He sent it in and in two weeks he got it back, repaired, completely repolished and in a new box marked with a decal and matching serial number tag/info, no charge to top it off.

Don't get me wrong, I love the 629's, especially the custom shop.

Rugers warranty deptament is tops

I tried to get my MkIII repaired under warranty and Ruger wanted to charge me to put the magazine safety and the loaded chamber indicator back in before they would touch it. With all of the BS problems I have had with the gun I wouldn't even remotely consider buying another Ruger. Thankfully Volquartsen makes all the parts that you might need to replace, all of my Russian guns were built with better machining and attention to detail than my MkIII.

As for Taurus, I've handled a number of their revolvers but I've never seen one that didn't have so much slop in it that I wouldn't fire it and these are new guns still at the store. On a positive note they all are made from a similar amount of steel as a Ruger so if they have a problem you can probably beat whatever it is you wanted to shoot into submission, I would sooner buy a High-Point!

Seems I have more of the warranty experience that hammer has.  Ruger sent me a replacement part for a 10-22 for free, and called back to make sure I got it and to see if I needed help installing it.

I have 2 of the Taurus 627 .357 Mags and I need to send them both in for repairs before I sell them. The first has a broken return spring (guessing) and the second one hangs up in double action becuase it is out of time and the gears are chewed up on the cylinder

Man Ive had bad luck with every taurus Ive owned or my family has owned. I stick to S&W and ruger myself, I love my s&w but its more money then the taurus by two fold

I've got the same gun pictured with a 6.5" ported barrel.  I love it shoots like a dream never had any problems.

i own a model 616 357 mag and have had no problems, if you are looking for a light weight packing gun and save a few hundred bucks, the tracker would be the way to go its got the warrenty and its light weight. i just wouldnt shoot any souped up 44s through it.

I have two friends with Taurus revolvers. One is 44mag and one 454 and both have had timing go gunnybag.

Ive got the Ultra Lite Titanium .44 mag with 4in barrel.  Paid 516 for it a few years back, its blued.  No problems with it  so far, but its not like it gets a lot of action....its just a side carry when Im not packin a bow or rifle.,  I do not like the Tracker model, as the grip is too small unless you have small hands.  I wont have a hand gun with a grip that you cant use all your fingers....little finger hangs of the bottom.    I believe the difference is 52 ounces for the regular stainless and blued model w/4in brl, and the Titanium is 28 ounces, and no it does not try to jump out of your hand......
