Hit the Ronde over the weekend
«
on:
January 29, 2012, 10:43:53 PM »
Went down and fished the Ronde over the weekend...fishing was extremely slow.Saturday the Fish tech checked us and I had the only steelie he had check all day. My dad and brother were skunked which is a oddity they always catch fish. I took my girlfriend down for here first ever steelhead adventure and took her to my little hole she got skunked the first day,but today she hooked 3 and landed 2 of them. We ended up with 7 hooked and 6 landed for the weekend.

How do you fish that hole? Just let your bait swirl around?

thanks
Nope..its a secret
there is a way to fish that hole and 99% of the people who fish it fish it wrong. And what we were using isnt done by most. I used my traditional setup the first am with yarn and corky with 0 fish..2 casts to my little setup and fish on

I hear the fish stack up in that hole by the hundreds in the early season! I saw you fishing it saturday when the water was murky. Glad you managed some fish sunday.

Nice work!
I have to get over there for steelhead sometime. Have caught plenty of trout and smallies in the Ronde, but can never seem to make it over there for the steelies...

PNW were u across the river from with a young kid?
there are a certain few holes on the river when water stays low enough that you can hook 20+ steelhead a day in.

Nice. I've fished that hole only a few times, usually during the week. Done well on the head and tail, definitely can throw some different combos to make it work.

Nope, I stopped in for a milkshake and notice your group. Hopefully the river will cooperate this weekend.
