My new reloading bench...Update...First 100 in the book.

Well, this is where it is going to go. Just gotta add a leg to my existing bench, put in the shelves, assemble the press, get some power, primers, and projectiles. Then I'll be up and running.

Now is the season to get it up and running. I need to sit down and crank out about 4k rds for this year. Just have to find the time.

Crap... With a 550B I could crank out a couple thousand a night!

4-5,000 for the year..  Childs play my friend. Childs play.

Alas... My bench is full of fired brass. Time for me to get busy too.

I am sure, I am on a single stage press and not just loading 45 or 223 I have about 20 different cartrides to load ammo for. Not just cranking out a solid batch of 45's

Admittedly... I am a 45 nutcase. 

I do have to pull the 38 dies off he Dillon in the next couple of days though and get back to business. I think the Rock Chucker has 30-06 dies on it right now..

I have sat down and done a couple thousand 223's at a time "taking a day or 2". However I have got out of the just shoot to burn ammo mode So I have went from about 10k a year to about 4-5k. Saves me more money to put into some more guns

Ran a few rounds this weekend and had a few feeding issues. I'm guessing I was over crimping based on furher examination (and a commment by a gunsmith at the range) of my finished rounds. I've made some adjustments and will give them another go. For my first batch I'm very pleased. The press runs smooth...easily adjusted....and once you get your rythem it goes fast.

I jsut did my first rifle rounds yesterday and overcrimped as well.  Did your brass mushroom right below the bullet?  My overcrimp was very visible, but I can see where it could be missed as well.  Love the set up!  Where did you get that bench at?

Couple things......

The over crimp was noted by a gunsmith. I had a failer to feed issue on a round and it was chambered live with out the trigger seer set. So...loaded gun...not able to rack the slide. Got the slide racked and the round ejected. The smith that got 'er done looked at the rounds and suggested a .2 deeper seat to smooth out the case wall/projective surface and pointed out that the over crimp was causing a very slight bulge. I seated the remaining rounds which seemed to alleviate the over crimp bulge as well.

Cleaned, prepped and loaded my spent 30 cases with much less crimp...compred to previous modified rounds...no visible difference. Gonna run them this weekend and see how they do.

I bought my wood and modified the shelf mounting brackets (cut them off with a saw) so my shelf would not be so deep.

The press is mounted up on a Dillon "Strong Mount"...it gets it up a bit higher and is more user friendly.
