February razor clams

Seem's like I've heard of Costco getting them sometimes but I don't know when and I think they're Alaska clams, huge!!!! I've seen some of those Alaska ones still in the shell. They get up to 7 or 8 inches and more!!!

Thanks for the info guys, talked to a guy at work today he said some of the local seafood shops had them as well.

Did well.  One good day of clamming in north of Oysterville.  Nearly 2 limits (me and the 5 year old daughter).

Sweet !! It's great to get them kids out there so you don't have to bend over so much !!

Only three of us braved the hurricane saturday and got limits then sunday 18 of us went and got all our limits, I was really suprised that we did so well on saturday with that monster surf  we were at Pacific Beach

me and my crew plan to hit roosevelt. will be bonfiring after weve got full limits...

Hope your bonfire wasn't the one the ambulance and rescue crews showed up to just after low tide.

Can these yummy mollusk be bought anywhere? I never have time to go and do this. 

The Quinaults sell them. In Aberdeen and Hoquiam you can get them at Swansons, not sure about Safeway or Top Food.  Swanson's usually has them for about 8 or 9 bucks a lb. if I remember right. I'll check them next time I'm there. I'm sure they must market them elsewhere too.

The ones from Alaska come from Poly Creek (the only certified commercial beach in Alaska), which is on the west side of Cook Inlet. Most of the crews that used dig there were from the Grays Harbor area. A gal from Ocean Shores used to run the crew there.
