Let me clarify I fill out the fourth choice with a doe tag instead of a ghost hunt

"Ghost hunt"?  You can't put in for a ghost hunt as a 4th choice. If you want to put in for a point, it's your only choice.

Bobcat, can you clarify on that? So when I put in for moose and I only put down one unit....I can't put down a draw point for my last choice?  :dunno: Is that why I never get drawn?  :chuckle:

400 you get choices in each catigory . why not use them ? like quallity buck , buck , antlerless . one dosn't affect the others points . but if yopu dont allpy you will loose the points for that catigory . Bobcat can map it out for you he must be a bean counter (lol)
It was before the changes in the app process. and I should clarify again  :chuckle: I was stupid and picked a fourth hunt choice instead of just the three buck hunts I wanted and that's what got me the damn doe hunt!!! and it was a whitetail 2 hrs from hm to boot  :bash:  :bash:  :bash: Bob your are right about the ghost hunt I appologize  :hello:

No it does not hurt your chances for your second choice. If they draw your name they look at your first choice if all those tags are already full then they move down to your second choice.

Coach put in for the Colockum tag. You know you want to. Plus this year if you draw that tag you can hunt the Teannaway. Since your in double digits, I would skip all the Yakima units. It would be Blues or Colockum for me.  :twocents:

I think 400out has a valid point don't put in for any hunt you don't want with that many points because inevitably you will draw it.

You don't lose the points if you don't apply, you just dont get the additional point. I have 15 points for Quality Elk and Bull Elk. I will only be applying in one category this year, because I don't want to risk drawing in both categories and losing all my points...  :twocents:

Well when I say im only going to apply for one category, I mean I will be applying for a point in the other category. I only have 2 points for antlerless, so I will be applying in that category as well

With 13 points I would put the blues as your number one choice.

I believe my dad had 11 or 12 points last year for archery quality bull  and put in for peaches ridge, NOT selected. Good luck and you would think you have a great chance but you never know, but you can bet your butt there will be a few guys with 1 to 4 points drawing.

My dad will have 9 points this year.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for him.

In the 2011 "Quality Bull" category there were 2,687 applicants with ten or more points, and 29,437 with less than ten.  Due to the sheer number of applicants with a few number of points, they do get drawn more than one might expect, but that's generally because there are so many of them.

True but... You know what type of bulls are in the Colockum and where they hang. So since its closer for you and you can better scout it, I would put it as #1. Then put an area in the Blues as #2.
