Muzzy MX3 VS Muzzy three blade
«
on:
July 27, 2008, 07:02:00 PM »
I have always shot the regular 3 blades but switched to the MX3 this week, also got new arrows was shooting easton epic st 400gr
Now I'm shooting the beaman micro diameter 400gr with the mx3 and cant get good arrow flight to save my life. My bow is tuned and broadheads are to, cant figure it out one shot is on the money the next is bouncing off the ground and I only shoot w/ broadheads. Anyone have any ideals on what could be wrong?

I used to shoot muzzys aand had the same problem once i got a new bow . I hate to say it but there alot better broadheads out there that just shoot better . If you dont want to switch just take off the bad ones and take em back until you get a quiver full of good ones . I dont envy you , good luck

I'm shooting the Diamond Black Ice, Set at 68lbs, trophy taker rest and a string loop, before I started to shoot the new arrow I checked everything out went from 10 yds out to 50 problems starts at 20yds and out the two arrows are both 400gr so the weight didn't change

do they have the same fletchs? I know when I went form 3"aae vanes to the blazer vanes it made a big differences when shotting the crimson talons over the older 3 bladed muzzy.

When I put blazers on the arrows shoot flater then the 3" vanes and they seem to have less wind drift.
I'm always up to trying some thing new to get a flater shooting bow.

check your limbs for cracks, I had the same problem before, my limb just happened to crack right when I switched to different vanes and it had me stumped for a long time.

my cousin shot a 3blade through two shoulder blades of a spike.
prolly depends on the bow and how it shoots with the hunter.

I too tried the MX3's and ended up sticking with the original 3 blade, they just shot better for me and have always performed great on the critters i've shot. I believe it's the additional diameter of the blades that make it plane if you have any deviation in arrow flight.

I did a test tonight with the MX3 and the standard muzzy 3 blade. Using 2" and 4" vanes.
The results are in the Archery forum if you are interested.
