It shoots 3008x2000 RAW so you will have some flexibility in post processing but it does not shoot RAW+JPG, better plan picking up a decent post processing software too.

Six megapixels is on the low end by current standards, but it is not the only factor that determines picture quality. A 6 MP Nikon DSLR will outshoot virtually every compact 10 to 14 MP camera because of the larger sensor size. Pixels sell, but sensor size is more important.
