I personally like how organized HW is, don't think their could be to many categories, but I say that because I don't have to moderate them.  Look at other hunt sites, random info tossed everywhere, can't find anything specific your looking for unless its by chance.  I'm no woman so I can't say for sure, but you think it would be easy for them to get on a woman's board and ask specific questions about subjects that other women know from experience, or read old post that are not buried under tons of posting that doesn't relate to them, same goes for the children.  I hardly look at either of them so can't say for sure.  I always say the more organized the more convenient.  It's like combining bird dogs with hound hunters, or regular fishing with bowfishing.  I think those subjects are more alike than a women and youth board.  Anyways, either way I like what you mods do with the place, keep up the good work.

I have conflicting feelings about having a womens thread vs getting rid of it. I see where many topics could be on one of the other boards, but it's been nice to check in from time to time to see if my fellow huntresses have come across new gear that worked for them, and not have to dig through General Discussion to find it. that being said, I can't help but feel insulted that women and youth have been lumped together. My instant (although very sarcastic) reaction was kinda like.. "Whoa, you gonna tell me I belong in the kitchen next?" I have been on Hunt-Wa long enough to know that was not the intent, but that's kind of the way it comes across. These are two very different and unique categories of hunters and topics, and personally think that both are worthy of having their own boards. I guess when it comes down to it I'd rather see the  both boards completely nuked than to see them combined like they aren't valid or important enough to have their own. Just my opinion...

While I'm on a roll I thought I might also add this tidbit... We have a "Speak Your Mind" board ( I am a member of and enjoy) which is basically a second General Discussion board (mostly non hunting related posts)...  but we're going to make Ladies and Youth share a board? Perhaps there are other areas that we should be looking at doing away with/combining if space is the issue... :dunno:

Correct. There are a lot of things being considered.

I like the idea of separate boards for these two special groups. I want them to feel they have some place unique and welcoming. Worth it in my opinion.

Actually, I had already combined the boards because they weren't being used much and then caught some flack and added this poll to this topic to get member thoughts.  :twocents:

I was busy putting 4 new boards together on the forum, but I will look more seriously at separating them again and possibly making them sub boards of another board.

I think there should be a FAQ section in the general board in HUGE letters

I voted for them to be separate again.  I read most of the boards and respond on some.  But I've learned a lot from both women and men who post on there about things specific to women.  Since I'm not on here everyday, I'd probably miss alot...you guys post a ton of stuff!!!  :)  Good stuff, but it's a lot to view!
I intend to get my daughter on here also and think she'd be more drawn to the youth and women's boards first, then the others if she has time between facebook! :chuckle:

That said, if you need room for other boards, then keep them combined, but don't get rid of them altogether

The forum actually seems to be running very well (knock on wood) since I reduced the number of categories. That's the only factor I can identify, becuase I ahve increased the number of boards with the recent additions.

The members have spoken, the poll shows most members who voted in favor of separating the boards like they used to be.

SO THAT IS WHAT WE WILL DO...

Please give me a little time to get that done, I'm working on a few projects at the moment, but will get to it soon.   :hello:

I modified the board that has that info to have that heading. It's right at the top of the board under the "General Discussion".

When you are in the "General Discussion" board, FAQ is right at the top of the page.

Thanks bearpaw! For actually taking time to listen to what the members want.  My son was like do they think all kids are like girls or something?  And my wife was like so women are children?  I love this site and will stay a member if it stays the same or goes back the way it was but just wanted to thank you for your time.
