Ok all you trail cam veteran's, what is the best way to get animals to stop for a minute so you can get some pics? Ideas,what has worked best for you guys?

#1 tip I can give is point the cam down the trail and not across it, that way the cam has time to trigger, either that or get a cam with a fast trigger speed.  I haven't had any luck with bait, they ignore my mineral blocks and cob and all feed. 
If you dont do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do!

Red salt block. That works best for me. They last a long time and everything stops by long enough for a few pics. Deer, Elk, Bears and Moose.......oh....and Border Patrol on horseback.  :chuckle:

Alot of people use bait. I don't because it is a pain the butt to pack it out. I point my cameras down the trail like Smith said. I also look for spots along the trail where thre is several piles of chit. It seems like these places are right after an obstacle. Another place is a quick rise in elevation (old wore down stump or log). I think that they use that elevation to check thier back trail.
 This works for me with Blacktail.

Trace mineral block in spring summer. APPLES!!!!! In late summer/fall. Elk can't get enough of em!
