TRUCK SHOCKS??????
« on: March 18, 2012, 09:13:06 PM »
Havin a hard time findin a shock for the front end of 03 3500 dodge CUMMINS that will last longer than 30,000 miles! Just pulled the RANCHO 9000's out and there done! Should I expect to replace them every 30,000 or maybe move on to the next brand. I bought these from SHUCKS with lifetime warranty but since they changed to Oreileys they dont sell Rancho anymore. Do travel with camper most the time from 3500 to 4500 pounds on the back. DO have air bags under the rear. Sugestions much appriciated!

Do you know what the warranty is? And how many miles have you ran them?

Call Rancho directly.  They will replace them.  I have 90k on my Rancho 9k's in my Dodge 3500 and no problems.  You got a bum pair.
Otherwise, go Bilstein.

I have Bilsteins on my '93 Chevy diesel.  Over 100,000 miles on them.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I put Bilsteins on my Tacoma a couple of summers ago. Frankly, I'm not that impressed. A bit on the soft side if you ask me. I don't want a shock that will untuck my shirt either. But I don't think I would buy them again.  :twocents:

Toyota's are pretty soft to start with. I run rancho on my toy. But my duramax benefited from the bilsteins.....no question.

Put Bilsteins on my '98 Dodge Ram. Really like em. Funny thing is that I have a 2002 Ram that I bought new, 10 years and 150,000 miles ago that is still running the original shocks. Not even thinking about replacing them yet. When I do it will be Bilsteins though. Think I bought the last set through Summit Racing.

I've had Blistein 5100 series in my last 2 3500 HD 1 tons and they are great. 2" of lift in the front and bags in the rear. Little bit more up front, but have gone 75,000+ miles with no problems and I tow a 16,000# trailer around most of the summer.
