Just about every critter I have ever killed has been in the backcountry, from Moose, to deer to elk to bear.

I'm assuming you're talking about the one laying on his back.  He scored just over 20 if I recall correctly.

The one with the blood on the rock is actually a very misleading bear.  She scored maybe 16" but her tooth age came back at 19 years old!

I'll tell you that bear was built like a monster. We thought she was a huge boar when we first saw her. She was super boxy and like I said really old. 18 if I recall correctly.

OK I have a guestion, Is there anyone that treks up toward the high units during the opening of regular season and looks for holding areas or the pockets of deer if the weather has started hitting up high?

400,  the only thing better than the high hunt in september is the same hunt in october. You just have to be WAY more prepared for nasty weather. The bucks will timber up when that snow blows in, so it's a different game.
   Some great bucks on here!
