My 2012 backcountry bull.  We were 7 miles in and it all came out on our backs.

2011 modern firearm at around 6500'. My wifes first buck and my buck shot two days apart in basically the same location. I packed out both (about 4 miles each trip) and my wife carried the head each time (though she offered to pack the meat!).......great trip.

My dad and I backpacked into a unit in Idaho.  He shot this bull, which is his best.  He turns 65 at the end of the month.  I am proud of him, as this is his second backcountry hunt.  He trained hard all summer, and was paid off for his hard work.  Happy birthday dad!

hear is some backcountry bears the first pic is from 2010 it was a 20 yard bow kill, i had toilet paper in my mouth while i was pulling my drawers down to drop a load off, i look to my right and see several elk feeding up the meadow, then all the sudden they got real tense and hear comes the bear through the timber i think he was going aaftert the elk which had a few calfs in the herd. anyways the bear came into the lane i had anticipated my cow to step into, one arrow both lungs dead bear. then i finally dropped my load for sure! the black one pic is a rifle kill when i was 18. 5 yard head shot i may have dropped a load thier too. hope u enjoy. hurray for sore legs, dry food, miles of hiking and epic scenery. go backcountry!

These are three blacktail bucks that i got here in western Washington.  They were taken on steep ground where there were no man made trails, and by the time I got them out, I had "dear" meat!
