Its a 308, Japanse made. I bought it new in 1977. Best group was a half inch at 125 yards.
Yep, the older ones have character. A lot of folks don't like the shiney finish on the Brownings. I carried it so much over the years that not only is the finish gone, but the checkering is gone at the wrist from rubbing against my wool coat. It has been a great rifle.
It's too bad that they are made out of aluminum now. They are perfect for a first rifle in the short action other than they can get a little cold with the balance point being the box magazine, that steel can get cold!I guess I could give you fifty dollars for it.
