Cowlitz Steelhead w/Ocks Fishing Adventures
« on: March 20, 2012, 08:29:23 PM »
I spent Sunday on the Cowlitz on Paul Ockerman's boat.  We were there with what seemed like a thousand other boats (all the other rivers were blown out, plus the word must have gotten out that the fishing had been pretty good).  Paul invited Kevin Ceurter, Tom Ryle and Myself on a fishing trip.

Kevin broke the ice with a nice buck about an hour into the trip.  We then spent a couple more hours until I hooked up with a nice hen.  The fishing seemed to be tough on the river as not many nets were out all day.  The cold streak must have turned the bite off.  We still had a blast on the boat.  Paul runs a good boat and it was a great trip.  He also toughed out the runs up the river with snow, hail and rain pounding him.  I would recommend anyone looking for a trip contact him.  His site is http://www.ocksfishingadventures.net/

If Paul can get me to hook up with a steelhead, he can get anybody to hook up on a steelhead.  The other thing I loved is his competitive edge on the water.  He wanted to be the top boat and you could tell he wanted us to be in the fish and worked hard the whole time.

Here are some pics:
