I like the way Oregon has it set up.........Res. hunting lic. 29.50 (no small games b.s.)Deer tag 24.50Elk tag 42.50total 96.50We, on the other handDeer+elk+ small games (if discounted) 104.50 or with out discount--- total 121.00 Or if you purchase each license seperatly 42.90 (deer) 48.50 (elk) 38.50 (small games) --- total 129.90
I think the thought process with the constant rise in prices to legally participate in the outdoor activities is going to have a negative effect. One, we the responsible hunter/fisher that are on a tight budget have to rethink were our money goes which in effect means less tag/license/report cards purchased. This could equal less money that the State agencies receive. Second, those that have no respect for the law or our natural resources will create an epidemic in poaching because of the increased prices. Just my opinion.

Well last year was the most profitable for WDFW in terms of licensing.....
I'd guess that any increase in revenue from license sales would just help to make up for a loss of money coming out of the general fund.
On a personal note, last year at this time I bought a Big/Small Game license with deer tag. This year I just bought the Small Game license. If I decide to deer hunt this year, I'll buy a Big Game w/Deer Tag later, but my deer hunting buddy was such a PITA last year, i hope I don't have to....

What, does he force you to hunt with him or something?

Plus his insistence that he had to stop and get something to eat in the morning to raise his "blood sugar" made us miss the best hour of hunting of the day. And he takes pain meds at night and washes them down with booze, then complains in the morning that he can't take a dump. You looking for a deer hunting partner? I'll give him to you!

I don't really care for venison
QuoteI don't really care for venison
Quote from: bobcat on March 28, 2012, 12:04:14 PMQuoteI don't really care for venison Yeah, I know. Sounds nuts for a hunter to say that. I've eaten Elk, Antelope, Rabbit, Squirrel (the big greys, not the Ground Squirrels) and liked them all. I guess some poorly cooked venison just turned me off....
It went wrong when a "hunter" on here posted that he does not like to eat deer meat!
Yes, I was told they changed this last year. Purchased big game last year. Then later in the season, I went to get small game and was told that they had just changed the rules on pricing. I said "I purchased my tags before the change" they tried to contact FG to get me the discount price, but couldn't get a hold of anyone. Tired of this *censored*, not hunting this year. The change was made mid season last year when they uped the prices of tags that is why some of you might not have noticed. If you bought your big game before the change, your small game added later should have been the lower price. Not anymore though, not sure why.
