And tell him how much money they are spending to go look at wolves in his state...

I think it is also important to let him know how much money people are spending on hunting them!

I wrote: I paid $500 to visit Idaho and its wolves this last year... to hunt them. There are areas they can be harvested without damaging their numbers. They are a game species like any other animal and cannot be above management. When did one species become more important than the rest?

on Wolfer's facebook page.

For someone that is supposedly "neutral" on the wolf management issue, he sure spends a lot of time lobbying for the wolves.  :chuckle:
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

He is a pro-wolf advocate.

Some people have told me he is a nice guy to meet, but I have stated on here once before that he is one of the most hated people in Idaho that was involved with the wolf introduction.

Wolfer: You will have to ask God that question.

Kari: More importantly, why would you bring religion into an effort to research proper management of a species if you weren't trying to prey on emotions?

Kari: Perhaps I'll ask God that question, too. :)

I'm sure he is very charming, but it saddens me to see religion come in to play in any management decision. Science-based approaches are much more helpful, because as far as I know God's will is just as unclear to me as it is to Cartier; as far as I know neither one of us has His cell phone number.  :chuckle:

Why can't other see that religion is not part of this? So far this is the only place that I've seen where some big ol' Hoss in a 10 gallon hat hasn't bombarded the discussion saying that we have dominion and must use the land for all it's resources because Gawd said so. When you bring it down to just science, common sense takes over. Provided everyone doesn't have an ulterior motive, which is debatable at best.
We would be better off to not have been, but since we're here, it's our responsibility to exist without standing in natures way, It is not in our DNA to mandatorily become environmentally destructive juggernauts!
