Mule Deer

I need to find a spot where i can hunt mule deer without the crowds and the high hunts. Im not asking for anyone to give away there spot i just want to find a spot where me and my son both have a good chance at harvesting legal bucks or mature bucks if the offer presents itself. I am willing to travel anywhere in washington if there is a place.

C-Post is the spot. Most people don't hunt it for mulies....only grouse down low and some bear. Underhunted, underappreciated is how I see it.

I don't know H2O C-post is pretty remote he doesn't want to do any of the high hunts, and that C-post stuff is pretty rough you may need to provide gps coordinates so they don't get lost.

Yes.....you and everyone else is looking for that spot.  Those few that have found it , will never let it leak from their lips........When you find your own honey hole, it will mean alot more to you.  You can narrow down your search by viewing WDFW Harvest Reports all broken down for you by regions and GMUs.

In all seriousness it took me allot of years to get to the point where we could harvest animals with any consistency if I can give you any advice it is go where others won't.  Do your homework the more leather you burn this summer scouting the more successful you will be this fall.  Understand that you will not find the secret spot in one season often times you may find a productive area, but it may take several years to understand herd movements, escapement areas, foodsources.  In Washington it will never be easy there is no golden ticket, and you will have to make the journey just as much a part of your experience as the kill.  I have two kids, and a wife that harvest animals before I get a shot I still enjoy every minute of it I honestly get more excited putting my family on a deer than I ever have shooting them on my own.  I certainly hope you, and you son find an area that is productive for you I just think it will be that much more special to you if you discover it through you own hard work, and sacrifice.

You want to hunt without the crowds, so it sounds like you need to hunt private property, whether that is by asking for permission, or paying an access fee. For good numbers of mule deer I would look at Region 1, south from Spokane to the Blue Mountains, and then you might also look at Douglas County and Klickitat County.

If you have the money to spend I know there is a lot of private property in Klickitat County that can be hunted for a fee. Just drive around and look for the "hunting club" signs.

I will help you out! go around colfax this summer and start asking permission! write down every number you see, call them! Talk to farmers, grab the boy (he will help in the serch) offer to do some weekend work in trade! there are a lot of fences out there that need fixed  Put a add in craiglist for that area and see what happens 



As for the c-post hunt! H20hunter thats funny stuff! but for the rest of you guys/gals unless you have been on this site for more than 1000 post it's not very funny! just being a dick with another person joke
