Multi-Season Deer Tag
« on: April 16, 2012, 06:59:01 PM »
Being a newbie, bear with me. I just got a letter saying I was selected and allowed to purchase a multi-season deer tag.  :IBCOOL: From what I unterstand, this just means I have the opportunity to hunt with the appropriate weapons during any of the season. The bag limit for this is still only ONE deer, period. Correct? If I want multiple deer, I need to apply for the special hunts.

Do I have this correct?
Thanks a head of time.
-Dale

You are correct on all areas.

One deer. You will have to apply for a second deer tag for another...

183.50 to be exact. I thought I'd see if I can get a special hunt draw before purchasing.

Yes, you won a permit that lets you hunt each season with the appropriate weapon.  This permit is reflected on your tag (if you buy it).  If you already bought a deer tag, you would have to trade/upgrade it to a multi-season tag.  It will say multi season deer on the tag.

The only way to get "multiple" deer is to apply and draw a 2nd deer permit, and then purchase your 2nd deer tag for around $70. So with those two tags you can take two deer, and only two deer. Not sure if that's what you meant by "multiple" deer.

The cost is approximately $225 for your multi-season tag (that's including the original deer "license") and then another $70 for your 2nd deer tag will put up right up to $300 for two deer. Oh, and by the way, if you weren't aware, the 2nd deer tag permits are pretty much only for antlerless deer.
