2 Wolves Spotted
« on: April 22, 2012, 09:29:56 AM »
My uncle and cousins hunt some private property just off of Hey 211 just south of Usk. Saturday morning they spotted what they thought was a coyote up in the rocks. After watching it for a while, they realized how big it was. The oldest has hunted Idaho and Montana a lot and knows what wolves look like. About 15 minutes later, another black wolf comes out in the field 600 yards away. It kept sneaking up on a ditch that ran through the field. All of a sudden, it jumped in the ditch and 2 ducks came flying out! That's why there hadn't been turkeys there in 3 days. After that, the black one ran up th knob and met up with the other grey one. Then they ran over the top of the mountain and out of sight.
I wish I would have been there to see it myself.
I hunt therefore I am.

Shoot, Shovel, serve your time?
We would be better off to not have been, but since we're here, it's our responsibility to exist without standing in natures way, It is not in our DNA to mandatorily become environmentally destructive juggernauts!

Lots of yotes out their.  Unless the WDFW finally wants to say otherwise.  They are being tight lipped, so all out panic doesn't kick in.
Cut em!

You're kidding right?  Have you been hanging out under a rock for the last three years.  Go have a look at the WDFW web page and see what they're saying about wolves.

I have heard a few reports coming out of the cooks mountain area- there are probably a couple wolves hanging around in there.

Not saying enough!  The maps they show are only scratching the surface.

There was a map of Idaho with pack dots on it.  Thing was covered in dots, dots even had dots  :yike: in places.  Then you can just put that map next to the WA map and only imagine how many are really in E WA.

There are wolves on all sides of Usk, so there are no doubt transient ones at least, or new ones establishing from those booted from the main packs to North, East and West of Usk.

Any sighting is no surprise in eastern WA.  Over lay a wolfer normal range map and you cover most of the dry side.  With all of these singles running around, how many feral hybrid pups are about?  These are not coyotes.  When a female cycles she will be bred.  I can't wait to see what the guard dog cross looks like.  We may actually see a 200 pounder.  Hybrid vigor is a wonderful thing?  No one thought through the results of this introduction.  They knew it, just did not act responsibly.
