Talk of Prices and Wolves in Oregon
« on: May 06, 2012, 11:16:42 AM »
It's funnny, I read a couple of threads in the hunting forum on www.ifish.net, which for those not familiar with it is a message board based out of Portland, Oregon, and of course most of the topics are Oregon related.

The interesting thing is that some of their topics are almost clones of ours. Here is one on the increase in prices and the decrease in the number of hunters, and as a bonus wolves and the lack of wolf management by the ODFW gets brought into the mix.

I'll have to give that a read before it gets locked down.  The mods there don't like any disagreements, so it will likely get locked if turns too negative.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Interesting that they had an 8.7% decrease in license sales.  That is practically identical to the reduction in elk hunters in this state.

I've trapped the coast range in OR for a number of years. I can't speak to the rest of OR but the deer and elk are on the downswing. They have similar problems as we have so it's no surprise they get similar results.

I'm the mod in here and if you don't use profanity or abuse people I won't lock or delete anything. I have rarely seen that from the other mods, either.

You're a mod on Ifish?  If that is the case, maybe I'll start reading and posting over there a bit more.  I got frustrated over there because of how heavy handed the moderation was........but I haven't spent much time there ever since this site started.  They wouldn't even let people discuss wolves or sealions for the longest time.......

I misunderstood Curly. I thought you were talking about the mods in here in this section, 2nd Amendment. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
