My set up with pics
« on: April 29, 2012, 10:32:33 AM »
Went yote hunting this morning, and called in 3 deer and one VERY lucky coyote :bash:.  Thought I would share what type of hunting that one can expect on a island where private property makes up most of the land.

HEre is a view of the left front side, and notice the fence line..  That is land I dont have permisoon to hunt on, and if a yote does show you have to coax him through the fence line.

Here is a picture of myself on stand.  I have great coverage from 3 angles, and yet I can still see through the tall weeds. Great for cathing any movemnt in the field.

This is a picture of the blind side I had to contend with  I put a trail camera up to catch anything that my eyes dont.  I do this often, and its amazing how many yotes we really call in :bash:

can yo move your FP back away frm the fence a little more?  The yotes are pretty dang close to that caller - enough to pick up scent off it and hear any distortions, I could see them easily hanging up in the dark timber

also they are right there at your trail cam, they'd pick up scent off that too

I only use buckshot due to the close range of homes/property, so I have to get them up close and personal   Your right about the foxpro and trail camera. I treat them the same way I do with my clothes.  I keep them in a bag with vegation when not in use to soak up that natural smell.   Do you think if I put a little coyote urine on the camera it would help?

I wouldn't do that,  I bet once they get that close to the camera though they might hear it

dunno what camera you have, but a shudder click would be enough
