Predraw hush hush??
« on: May 12, 2012, 10:02:09 PM »
Its been pretty quiet on here for it being only a few days til draw apps are due, whats up with that? Is everyone being sneaky and waiting til the deadline has passed to talk about what they are putting in for or what. Usually at least a few guys are asking questions and chattin it up. Im sure after the draw there will be plenty of where is this unit that I drew and where do I go!!Lol. I didnt get the multi season tag so guess I am stuck on the westside for elk and will try for quality archery tag with my 3 points but dont expect  to get that lucky. Anyways good luck to all. nwhunter

I noticed that too.

I think it is just due to the nice weather we are finally getting and people are busy doing outdoor "stuff" this weekend. Oh, plus Mothers Day is tomorrow.

I bet it will pick up in here about Wednesday just before the deadline.

I just got my last application submitted tonight. I haven't drawn anything since 2008, so I really think I'm due for something this year. Hope for at least the antlerless elk hunt I put in for. But I would prefer a moose tag!

I would have to agree about the weather, there are so many people out and about in the neighborhood partying right now!! It's like they haven't seen the sun for months!

I still have a few more apps to purchase goat, moose those extras that I don't really need but would like the points. It did take me a while to purchase my license and sp hunt permits but finally put in for some east side units. I did put in the for the new permit for Antlerless in Bumping, Nile, and that other area oh yeah Colockum!!

yahh i did mine last night! ive been putting in since 98 with no draws so im hoping this year is my year. so dont feel bad with your 08 draw bobcat i got 10 years on yah lol. ive been putting in partner with my dad though on the westside so we could hunt together, but this year we applied east side individual, since either way we can hunt elk together if one draws and one doesnt. one of us would just be stuck hunting spike/cow.
they call me the bloodhound cause i can track a wounded animal in the rain for 2 days when all it has is a splinter.. sniff sniff awooo

Well, I have 10 points for moose, 10 points for Ram. I applied for both but gave up hope about 8 years ago. It makes it easier when I don't get drawn.  :chuckle: :chuckle: :'( :cryriver:

2 for bull, 6 for quality elk, 5 for antlerless elk, 5 for my goat, 2 moose, and 10 for quality deer. I have some hope for quality deer and antlerless elk but its the luck of the draw and if i didnt have bad luck i would have no luck at all!

2 in quality elk 2 in bull elk  :chuckle: 1 in moose and goat 1 in quality deer.  I have faith.  A family member had 12 in quality deer I told him I'd probably draw this year he said not me.  :chuckle:

I took the point option on most of my permits this year.  I did put in to try to draw a quality bull, sheep and goat. But did the point option for all other tags.  This is my sons last year as a youth hunter and I have him in on just about everything going.  So I am just hoping he gets at least one youth tag, well at least the elk or moose.  Really hoping for the moose.  Since this is he last year as a youth, I was doing the points option for his moose points since he started hunting so he has like 8 moose points.  I just hope get gets something.  Good luck to everyone!!!

You might have used up all your luck on a certain tag that you drew 2 years in a row!! :chuckle: Good luck this year, I'm still going after the same tag that I keep NOT getting. 17 elk points, 8 deer and 12 for sheep, moose and goat.

Well with 1 point for quality elk Im surely not in the run for that, but I do have 1 unit to put in for regular elk with 4 points. 13 for Muley so I may get lucky there ....... we will see.

Yeah you would think that since everyone is trying to draw that one special tag ... :chuckle: Heck I might not put in for sheet ....we have been pretty lucky in last couple years So maybe we will just sit back and let someone else have it ... 8) :chuckle: :chuckle: Just that I just figured out what it will cost me for 3 of us hunting and fishing and I just do not feel like wasting that much money since Obama may be running this country for another 4 years  ;)

One point and your draw luck is almost a shoe-in for another Blues tag, isn't it?

About 10  years ago, I drew a bunch of great tags with almost zero points. For example, I drew a Goat Rocks goat permit the first time I applied. I was fortunate to get an excellent goat but won't apply again (I was the last year before the 1 for life rule) since I want to free up opportunity for someone else that has never been drawn.
Sadly, I haven't been very lucky in the past couple years, but I'm hopeful that a moose tag will come my way soon!

Good luck to everyone because you probably have a better chance of drawing than me, 15 points for moose, goat, sheep, elk, deer and still have never drawn a thing. Sometimes I wonder if my name even gets put in the pool.  I can tell you that after 15 years of not drawing anything my patience has warn thin.

This is the first year I've gone almost all in in Washington for a while. I only ghosted doe and second deer. The last few years I ghosted almost everything due to hunts planned in other states. Now I'm rebuilding points in those other states and trying to burn my Washington points. Takes a lot of planning and strategy to hunt 4 states and I'm looking at adding a fifth to the list. Washington is a pain to schedule cause it's completely random when you will draw.
It easy to see why the guys who hunt several states use the brokers to plan and execute their draw strategy for them.

Points only for everything this year. My son is due September 9th. So probably not going to get to hunt as much as usual and don't want to draw something that I might not get to use.

I did the same thing back in 07 my daughter was born the 19th of September.   Was wife was in elk camp the first week of the season ready to pop at any time.   We got home from the hospital late on the 20th after she was born.  As we both laid in bed awake at 2am my wife told me go back over hunting last day of the season.

So I drew elk multi for the first time, but now my son in heading off to college this next year, he's on semesters so no early season hunting for him...I'm bummed. We normally put in as a group for west side and hunt with my dad who comes from CA.

So since I drew multi and have 7 points, I put in for Peaches on the east side because if I get drawn my dad can still hunt for spikes and cows. I also put in for Toutle on the west side because if I get that, I can hunt with my dad from the 4th to the 13th or so where we nornaly hunt and then hunt the toutle from then to the 23rd.

Only taking points for the bull permits since they moved the Margaret over there. My son and I will have 11 points each when he gets out of school in four years which will help us get drawn for there. Points for everything else until he gets out.
