Quiet and Secluded
« on: May 21, 2012, 02:27:47 PM »
Hi Everyone!

I am fairly new to fishing in the area and looking for a quiet spot to go fishing that will not be a lots of traffic.  I posted a few days ago about Devils Lake in Skagit and got no response.  I drove up to Sumner Lake yesterday and it seems to be no bank or whatnot.  Does anyone know of a place that does not involve a crazy amount of hiking.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You want both quiet and not a lot of hiking to get away from the masses????  Not sure I know of many places like that..  I used to know some great lakes up by Mt. St. Helens.. but that is all Private Property now..

You can always try Clearwater Lake up by the observatory.  I hear there are some nice Cuts in that cold water..
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Are you bellyboating or bank fishing?

I do not mind hiking but I do not want to be walking 10 miles.  I do not have a boat so just on the bank.  A guy mentioned Ten Lake so I might go check it out.

I grew up in Mississippi where there are a million places that you can just drive you could just fish all day and never see a person. Many of those are 100 yards from the road.  I have learned that not to be common around here. :)

If you have the budget may want to look into a bellyboat. Probably some good finds on Craigslist or the garage sales. There are some nice lakes to fish that don't have much bank access. One bit of advice would be to double check your regs. Make sure you know your catch and release areas and gear restrictions.

Langlois by Carnation used to be nice and peaceful.  There is some bank access, but very limited.  Great place for canoe or belly boat.  Crackle Frog flatfish used to be the ticket.  Been a lot of years since I've been there though.  Avoid the lake when the girl scouts are in camp!!!  Dang they are noisy.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Thanks... I will keep looking and when I find a place I will let you guys know.

I miss being in the south, just finding a spot and going at it.  Not all these rules... Yet it is fun! :)
