Lyon's Ferry Catfish
« on: May 24, 2012, 06:20:32 AM »
I talked to the KOA guy on the phone yesterday and he said they're catching them.  I guess I'm going to try going down there and fish and camp for a night since my friend and his girlfriend want to go camping over the weekend over there.  Anyone been there lately and have a report?  Haha I'm about to try renting a kayak there and hitting the Palouse, a main river hole for blues, then maybe try going up to the mouth of the Tucannon for some panfish if I'm not getting much at the other spots.  Oh and if anyone's there this weekend just tell me, could drink some beers during the night  :).

Yeah for sure I'll do that, if you see a 6'4 idiot in a kayak fishing along the bluffs or tied up on the main river say hi haha.  I need to call them and see if they have any more tent campsites open still, this was a last minute thing that we're doing.  If not we'll be staying over at the Palouse Falls State Park.  Should be able to get into some fish though.

I'll be using the standard worms for the mixed bag at some spots then try shrimp too for the catfish.  I'll be trying to look for the crappie too probably at first in the morning with some mini jigs tied up as I paddle around the bluffs.  Haven't tried for the crappie during my trips there, I've heard the bluffs are a good starting spot, anyone know of any other places?

As you come out of the marina tie to the dock on either side and put out a worm you can catch suckers for bait it works good we just flay them and put on a strip. Give us a report we will be over the 11th.
