Missed one last night
« on: August 07, 2008, 08:39:04 AM »
Got off work early to go bear hunting with my buddy yesterday afternoon.  After a short hike we got to a small meadow where I've seen some bear earlier this summer.  We could just make out a big blue/black with brown faced bear feeding through some thick stuff.  I would estimate him around 250lb.  My buddy stalked up to about 280 yards, but shooting up hill.  After one shot I could see him run.  I saw him again about 3 minutes later, then we saw him disappear into the woods about 20 minutes later, walking away as if nothing happened.  We looked for blood and the bear for over 2 hours but couldn't find anything at all.  It was probably 80 degrees outside when we saw that bear feeding right through that meadow, it was crazy.  We'll have to try to get him next week I guess.
