Eastern Grey squirrels

Is there a good time of year to hunt them? When they are more active but also fat?

Back in VA we started in on em about the 1st of Sept when they have been eating some nuts they get pretty pudgy then to.

it seems to me that later in the fall they get real busy around here n last year they were real plump.i still have a couple in the freezer that were monsters
