Knight Disk Extreme. These are at 100yds with standard open sights. .50/.44 hornady xtp sabots with 100gr triple 7 and musket caps. Bottom group is 1 1/2", top is 1 3/8". I shoot at a big dot at 100 so I can actually see it!! I am really curious to see what this will do with a scope!!

I have also read numerous posts about the Traditions Vortek being garbage but I love mine.  Mosts of the posts against this muzzy seems to be that they had a tendency to go off when you would shut the breach.  When I called the company because I had a friend that also had one but had the NW edition (#11 cap) vs. my NW Magnum Edition (musket cap) and he wanted to switch the plug over to a musket cap.  The company adimately pleeded for him not to do this because even though the threads are the same and they look the same there is evidently a 300th of an inch difference in the length and they are not interchangable.  This is why they have been going off.  I am a guy and by nature I am normally against reading the instructions but they clearly state in the instructions when you buy this gun that they shoot only the type of cap that comes with the gun.  If you buy the NW Magnum edition I don't think you can go wrong.  I am a Knight fan as well but I like the feel of this gun and the ease of cleaning that if presents.  I have been shooting a 300 grain powerbelt pushed by 100 grain  Pirodex pellets and have had great accuracy.

I've shot and or owned, remington, lyman, TC (a few models), Knight (a few models), CVA, and some no name european kit gun like a CVA. Maybe a few more that I dont remember.

Curently run a Knight Wolverine with a thumbhole stock. I've had it for years and dont have any plans to change. I've got the regular stock for it as well.

It took me alot of years to finaly get to Knight. Felt pretty dumb about it too since for the entire time my father in law hunted right beside me with an original Bighorn. I borrowed it for a late season cow hunt after my TC Hawken stock couldnt handle the swelling from being rain soaked for days on end. I shot my cow with it. Then promptly went and bought my own.

Another sidelock guy here.  I've got a late '60's model TC Hawken that has a .50 cal Green Mountain LRH barrel on it.  1:28" and incredible accuracy with heavy conicals and sabots with the right charges.  Now, I don't wear a buckskin jacket with fringe - but the newer "plastic fantastics" just don't do it for me for when we're talking about a muzzleloader.  I'd put my gun up against anybodys for groups and accuracy at 100 yds.  You don't need to spend a a bunch of money on the newest and greatest in-line... just get an old TC Hawken with nice wood and good trigger/sidelock, put a new Green Mountain LRH barrel on it and you're good to go.

I own a Remmington 700ML.  They dont make them anymore and it does a good job but I dont think it is the best.  The best is probably the White gun.  dont know for sure.  They are a specialty gun with there own different calibers if I am correct.  If I was to get a new gun I would get a Knight hands down.  They have the best barrel for a factory gun ever made.  My buddy has one and it is the most accurate gun I have ever seen.  The gun is really long and a pain to haul around but when it comes to muzzleloading accuracy is everything and his and his brothers can outshoot my Remmington any day of the week.  But I will stick to my Remmington due to the fact it is lighter and shorter and accurate good enough for me up to 100 yards and I dont feel anyone should be shooting much farther out than that without a scope.  When your front pin is covering half of the animal than you ought to think twice before pulling the trigger and wounding it.  Just a few random thoughts from someone who likes to chase animals around in the fall.
