I drew the Bumping River Mtn Goat tag! I had to do a double take when I pulled up the results.

I'm super stoked, a Mtn Goat hunt has always been my dream hunt. I just figured I'd have to hire a guide in Canada or Alaska if I was to ever shot one. I never dreamt of being able to actual hunt one in my own state.

I have alot of work ahead of me. I already talked to the sheep and goat biologist and he gave me a starting place. Next is to get some maps and start making some weekend backpacking trips into the area.

There is a ton of oil tags on here this year! It should be a great year to see some great critters hit the dirt!!!

I drew the "NOT SELECTED" tag straight across the board for every species   :chuckle:

Any of you NE moose tag holders want a tag-along that doubles as a fine pack mule, give me a shout.  I'd happily pitch in and help out if I could be a part of one of those hunts

I'll tell you what - I was lucky enough to be invited to tag along last year for an Observatory bull tag, and 4 of the 7 loads came out of those mountains on my back ......... and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.  Was just as fun as if I'd pulled the trigger myself and I'll be talking about that hunt for the rest of my life.

No joke.  And I have a feeling he will do justice to both of those tags.

It's not a joke.  I also have Idaho mountain goat, Nevada antelope, and Nevada mule deer (which I will return).
I'm quitting my job at the beginning of August and committing four months to hunting this fall.
