I can't imagine what the Natives do up there is any worse than what goes on in the Winston during the general seasons, and if a guy works hard at it you can still pull Bulls out of there every year.  I can't speak for what goes on up there, but I know what goes on in the Winston.  Last thing I want is this thread turning into Native bashing, the Natives I've met off here seem to be upstanding guys.

I'd really consider getting a Hancock key.  That time of year you may have to hunt lower due to the weather.  I'd hate for the season to get here along with the snow and then not have that hancock option.   :twocents:

:yeah:   Archery or Muzzy I would not be terribly concerned about the Hancock permit, but would prolly do it anyway just cuz....Its a rare tag, put as many things in your favor as possible. If hunting Modern season definitley consider it.  :twocents:

I drew the tag 4 years ago (archery) and pulled it off again this year. Livin' in the Claw this is my backyard. Four years ago had one of my best hunts ever, including Idaho in the mix.  Yes, pressure from treaty hunters. Thats OK. I got of the roads and had excellent results, as this would be the case in most areas with treaty rights or not. There is a pile of bulls in here and can't wait till August when they start to light up!!!! Layin' in a tent, in a bag with bulls keeping you up all night..........can't get much better. Remember what Dwight said years ago.....loneliness is a oppurtunity! Come on August.

You don't need the key. My bro killed a decent bull off 73 rd. it all depends on the snow!

I had the tag last year, and the night before the season, the game warden closed the gate at the bottom of the 73. Kind of ruined that spot. It's a long way to the top if you are on foot.

They didnt close the 73 off of the 75 and that puts you pretty much at the top. Are you sure it was the 73. They did gate the 7315, But that was the only spot

They also closed the 7160 road (Buck Creek), the day before the season opened last year.  I know that is a long way to the top on foot also.
