So had one of the oddest days ever.... started the day almost getting a shot a a nice 4x whitetail, just didnt hold still long enough. Soon after found a great swampy area that we see some guys grouse hunting near, they tell us about a bull they heard and that we needed to checkout where they just came from...so we do, of course bring NO weapons as they just hunted through there..Im walking down this trail at the bottom of a select timber pocket along a creek, i hear sometthing and look up, to see a cougar walking along with me....WTF! I slowly back up and head for the truck and WEAPONS...of course he never to be seem again...we leave for a different area...driving down the dirt road and I look up and see something moving in the road up ahead....It's 2 corsican rams fighting.....Im thinking what the heck, and film them and drive off...I dont get far and send/get a few text's back, that I need to go smoke them as they shouldnt be out in the wild.... go back and cant find them now...ugh...end up seeing a small bull, tonight maybe 30", hear another thats sounds big, get a bull elk going so it was a good night, but wierd day.....Not quite how I thought my moose hunt would start... :chuckle:

Sounds like a heck of a day. Be careful of shooting the rams. More then likely someone livestock that got out of a pen. You can get into a world of trouble shooting someone stock. Just because they get out does not mean you can shoot them. We had a problem with that around here and it was not pretty for the guys that did the shooting.

Tired feet and legs tonight....saw 3 bulls today....2 good ones, and one dink 4x4 who walked right up the road to us, until I waved at him at 10 yards.. :chuckle:  He just looked at us and stood there staring at the camera and then meandered off the road grunting away. Lots of learning road systems and new areas....good times!

good luck on getting some rest! if you need to relax come down on the Usk side of the mtn & get some hot-tub time @ the Camas center for Community Wellness where I work, nominal fee for day pass. I have tomorrow off & taking my daughter to her orthodontist but if you get the BIG one and need help, I'm game.

Trust me I know the laws. The fallow deer is a exotic. A Corsican ram is a hair sheep and is considered live stock not a exotic. Plenty of people raise them as livestock such as myself. If you see one of my sheep out and you shoot it it is the same thing as shooting livestock. A deer is way different, trust me.
