The biggest northern I caught was 32", but had a blast catching them all and I released them to grow bigger.

Our vacation has been awesome so far.

The wife went to an Indian Casino one night with several of her sisters and nieces. She hit a jackpot on a penny machine and won $2500. She gave each of her relatives that was with her an extra $100 to gamble with and she still left the casino with more than enough money to pay for our entire vacation.
:IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

Also made it out musky fishing again, but still no muskies. We did catch a bunch of panfish and I caught a huge leatherback turtle on my ultralight rod, I thought I had mobydick on the line, can't beleive I didn't break the pole, he was about 16-18 inches across the back...  :chuckle:

We were trying to pick him up for photos and he managed to bite the line and get away before I got any pictures at shore.  :sry: :dunno:

Have had several poker games and been winning a few bucks most of the time, finally my luck ran out last night, I couldn't get good cards for nothing and when I did, somebody had better. I bet I lost $50 dollars last night. Fortunate for me the wife decided to play with us last night, she never plays poker, but boy did she have beginners luck. Near the end of the evening I put the jokers in the deck for a few hands when it was my turn to deal, I said "the jokers seem to bring me good luck". In one hand of "guts" the wife had both jokers, I'm telling you she was on a role. In spite of my poor performance we still added to the overall pile of change thanks to her.  :chuckle:

You can see the turtle in this photo, after he escaped he swam out in the middle of the river and surfaced....

Cool trip! I hunted hogs in TX awhile back. Always cool to see the different sights and hunting styles and the lifestyles of totally different states than were used to.

Spent the last 1 1/2 days in Montana, had to visit with ranchers, taxidermist, and do some organization for my MT hunts. I was really dissappointed in the current antelope situation. Areas where I would see hundreds of antelope anytime in the past, we only saw a very few. I will keep my antelope hunting scaled back to nothing for another year or two and hopefully they will multiply.

Working on adding some additional mule deer hunting (trophy hunts and meat hunts) to what we already have, and possibly some more cougar and elk hunting. Also inspected one of the buffalo herds that we hunt, they are looking good, lots of calves, numerous 2 and 3 year olds ready for this fall and we have an impressive 10 yr old breeder bull that is going to make someone an excellent mount.

Last night on the way home we witnessed one car crash and saw another wreck, the first was north of Missoula on a straight stretch of freeway. My wife says "I think someone just wrecked", I'm like naw, somebody probably was spinning aound on that dirt road right beside the freeway. We slowed down and the dust cleared, there was a new looking chevy truck that had rolled, two guys were trying to get out. Lots of people were stopping so I said "lets go' and we headed for WA.

We started up Lookout pass and on the sharp "S curves" someone was going too fast, you could see they hit the center concrete barrier and bounced over into the ditch and rolled. Two girls were talking to a cop by the car and one ambulance was leaving with lights on. Crazy, I never see that much carnage going through MT.

The one thing I didn't get accomplished on this trip, no musky, so I guess that is what I will concentrate on in two years when we go to the next reunion. But wow, we had a great time, it was nice to get away, I got to do a lot of fun things, my wife got to spend a lot of time with her family, but as always, it was nice to get back home.
