OIL Cow Moose Tag North Mt Spokane
« on: October 17, 2023, 10:45:22 AM »
So, I was lucky enough this year to draw an OIL tag (OIL to me) Cow Moose tag- North MT Spokane.
This summer I have spent a few weekends in the area scouting and just getting more familiar with area and yes, I have access to the IEP property. I am headed up this weekend and part of next week to finally hunt (my plan was to wait for the weather to cool off a little before going out). I am interested to see how the late summer fire in ELK WA has affected the wildlife in this area? Please let me know if any of you guys have some recommended spots I should check out? I will hopefully be reposting a success story soon.

I drove up Blanchard this morning. Saw quite a few deer down low on the private land.
I think it's been long enough since the fire that things are back to normal as much as they can be.
FYI, I did read that the IEP gates on Blanchard are going to remain closed this year due to the fires so it will more than likely be walk in only for you. If I'm around, I'm close and willing to help pack if you put something on the ground. Just let me know.

Cow moose are not OIL, only bulls are. Good luck, go get one.
