future new bow hunter

Hey guys. Im a rookie hunter this year. And im hunting modern firearm for deer and elk this year. But next year im goin to be hunting elk with a bow. Im lookin to buy the diamond archery infinite edge bow package. Ill be huntin the westside and was wonderin if you guys could give me any tips on huntin with a bow.

Buy the bow now and start shooting. Train yourself to pick a spot, not just a general area in the vitals.

All kidding aside if your a hunter you already know most of what you need to hunt regardless of weapon choice. The one piece of advice I would give is practice, practice, practice. I cannot stress that enough. And do it from all positions(standing, sitting, kneeling, with a tree in the way etc.) Try to imagine all the potential shots that you could end up with. When I started I didn't know this and made a terrible shot trying to go around a bush. I got my deer but had to track it for 4 hours and it was over half a mile away.

Honestly id like to buy the bow now. But bein a 15 year old means know one wants to hire you and yardwork is just not enough. And ill definitely do that practice thing. But.i have to buy the bow first. I should be able to buy one by April.

I wouldn't go to one of the big stores for your bow.  Find a small shop that has someone who knows what they're doing and get set up right the first time.  Take a lesson or two so you don't develop any bad habits.

  Start a relationship with your local archery shop by buying your bow there. Usually, they'll give you a shoot card for their range with the purchase and free adjustments to get you fitted. The extra money you pay by going to a small shop will come back to you. The lessons suggestion is a good one, as well.
