Been using one for many years. It's been about as soaked as optics can get as I hunt elk on the Olympic Peninsula. Never had it fail. Clarity is good as is with most of the gold ring products. Only thing I have ever had an issue with is I wore they eye cups out once after many years of use. Sent the scope in and a week later I got my scope back with new eye cups and while they had it they tore it down and cleaned it all up like new. Very happy with how they backed up their product. You could do a lot worse than this scope.

I love mine for hunting in eastern Washington where you can see for a long way. I think it's a great piece of glass for the money. It's a little bulky and heavy if you're planning on doing long distance hiking type hunts in my opinion. If that's your primary use it might be worth it to look into the compact version. If you only walk a mile or two it's worth the weight to carry it. Less expensive than some of the other brands, well built, and from a company with good customer service. The number of animals i located when i upgraded from a low end piece of glass to one of these was amazing. Worth buying.

I really like mine it is the HD version but there is not much difference between it and the regular GR. I actually got it used for $600 and sent it to Leupold and they took it completely apart and cleaned and serviced it for shipping to them.

There are better scopes, and there are less expensive scopes. I do not believe there are better less expensive scopes. Solid construction, waterproof, excellent eye relief. Optics are very good. I have the HD model and am pleased with it.

I have an HD model and like it. For the money, they are a good spotter. Do not overlook getting a quality tripod. The best scope in the world does you no good if it sits there and shakes in the wind. You may have to sacrifice a little more weight, but you NEED a good solid tripod.
