Correct... Owned by the same people that own discount guns though.

Hmm, didn't know that. Makes sense though, they look exactly the same from the outside.

From recent chatter in another forum, from what I understand, Wades is under scrutiny for "elevated" levels of lead.

You could also try the Renton range. They have pistol range you can put targets up at 15, 20, 25 and 50yd and they are a lot friendlier than the Dicks at Kenmore. If you miss the target at the 25yd line at kenmore a few times and hit the dirt, your out of there ASAP. I live 4 miles from there but go to Renton for the friendly blue collar feeling.

This has been a long standing issue for years, there.  Yet another reason why I don't shoot there.

Yes, you are right. It's West Coast Armory North that took over the Sam's in Everett - not Wades as I originally said. I talked to them this morning and they say the range opening is still two weeks away. That's what they said two weeks ago so not really sure what's going on there. But it looks like a nice facility and I'm looking forward to shooting there.
There number is: 425-265-7143. The address is 11714 Airport Road, Everett, WA 98204

I'm a member of Renton Fish and Game. Once they get to know you it's definately a lot more relaxed.

Wades scares the hell out of me on the weekends and is expensive. I only use that range during the week when its winter. There are a lot of first timers and Yahoo's.

I used to go to Issaquah rifle club. Cheap, outdoor and people were cool. The range master can be crabby but never had an issue with her. Its just far from my house.
Sams in Everett is closed but it was old school indoor and cramped. Safe handling was an issue because of the tight space.

Discount guns (the range is under a different name) ranges seem nice. I've checked them out but are pricey but the have some cool course stuff.

Kenmore is about 10 minutes from house and I just started going there. The have trap, rifle, pistol and archery. Plenty of options. The trap is nice and open evenings. The rifle is a typical outdoor style. I go during the week and its not very busy and laid back. The weekend is busy though.

I recently took hunters ed there too. They really are a gun club in every sense. I'm thinking of joining it. I figured my boys and I would have to go 4 times a year to pay for itself.

Kenmore hands down, Wades has always had bad reviews from just about everyone and their brother who have been there...

I was a member of Kenmore until I moved off to college and some of my best gun range memories have been there (as opposed to a few others I've frequented). Friendly range master, trap range, rifle range, pistol range, a flat archery range (up to 80 yards) and then 2 walk through archery ranges (upper and lower) -- lower is shorter (takes an hour or so to walk) as opposed to the upper (takes 1.5 hours or so to walk).

Not to mention they do a 3D archery shoot every 4th of July which is AWESOME. I'm pretty sure it's free admission or real cheap if you help set the animals up the weekend before too...

I would highly avoid going on weekends as when it's open to the public, there will always be knuckleheads  :twocents:

I believe that West Coast Armory North has officially opened up its indoor shooting range, just the first 6 stations. More to open up in a couple of weeks. They seem very nice and eager to get folks shooting. I plan on heading up there tomorrow, Thursday, 2/21 to check it out.
