Pipe in 3D target
« on: April 04, 2013, 08:31:58 PM »
I finally fixed my 3D elk. I got darn tired of ruining arrows with a perfect heart shot. I cut it open last nite with a sawzall and sure as chit, there's a piece of 3/4" emt(electrical metal tubing)right up the middle of the front legs and 8" up into the chest right where the heart would be. It has a dozen holes in the piece I removed plus a tip I left in once that I had to unscrew the arrow from.
Shrink wrapped it and re-foamed it last nite. Lookin good now.
Wouldn't ya think they'd have bent the emt to curve forward or stop it at the bottom of the chest? Anyhbow, now I can enjoy shooting it in the heart/lungs rather than aiming behind the shoulder.

I had a deer target like that.  I figured Easton must have given them some start up capital so they decided to help 'em out with arrow sales :chuckle:  After I broke about a half dozen arrows I never shot it again.  I left it out on our range when I would leave since the neighbor sneaks out and shoots my good targets with broadheads when I'm not there. >:(  When I came back a week or so later there were three broken arrows on the ground next to the target.  And when I tore it apart to throw it in the trash I found four Shuttle-T Lock broadheads in it. :o  That bass turd never shot broadheads into my 3-D targets ever again  :IBCOOL:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Radsav,
I think I'd be talking to my neighbor. Set up a trail cam and call the cops for trespassing, destruction of property. That'll cost him more than a few broadheads. Least he could do is ask and shoot field points.

Pour me another shot of whiskey!....
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
