What is the best type of broad head to hunt elk for.

you're gonna get a million different opinions on this one...but I vote for exploding heads, kill cleanly and cook your steaks at the same time.

I'd say go with something conservative, from one relatively new archer to another.

Name brand proven ones....shuttle t....montec....muzzy...or whichever ones you can get to group well with your current set up.

Slick trick (std, mags and vipertricks), G5 (montec and striker), and trophy taker (shuttle-t and terminal-t) all make very durable and proven elk killers.

But, above all, whatever you use, keep them spooky SHARP.   That can turn a ok head into an elkkiller better than anything else.

i have had the best groups with slick trick, but don't just choose one and force yourself to use it because you bought it(thats what i did). Try a few brands and find the one that work the best.

Do you sharpen your shuttle t's? They come new pretty dull but I've never sharpened them in case that is how they are supposed to be. I wonder if it's part of the reason why they make such big holes.
