I cut way back, 20-30 a day since my 'binge' shooting this weekend. The good news is that while yesterday I sucked (still really sore) I was SPOT ON today. My accuracy left room for improvement, but my posture, anchor point, release, everything was super consistent. Even when I wasn't hitting the center or my target my arrows were landing within an inch of each other. Whenever I slipped or my hat got in the way (gotta wear it backward apparently) I'd have a few fliers, but nothing too worrisome. My backyard is very hilly too so I was able to get multiple angles and elevations on target and it all seemed to come together well. Thanks for the tips.

I really don't like to practice with my bow. I don't know why, just never got into practice like I have with pistols and such.

I always practice with broadheads and shoot what is in the quiver and call that good unless my last shot is bad or something, I don't like ending on a bad note.

Not sure where I fit in  :chuckle: I would think there is a few old timers who have shot a bow for many many years and once you learn how its like ridding a bike ...you never forget how .. of course it is good to shot as much as you can to keep your muscles in tune...but over the last 10 years I have cut way back on shooting my bow ..I was like alot of you younger guys back in the day and always shot my bow everyday and went to all the 3D Shoots but now I just pick up my bow randomly and fire a few shots from 20 to 50 yards and if I hit the bullseye at those yardages I hang it back on the rack ...I think last year I shot my bow about 6 x and one was at my deer...It was only 4 yrds So I cause I did not need much practice  :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: Seriously though shoot as much as you need to and make sure your confident in your shooting   :archery_smiley: :archery_smiley:

I shoot 15 to 25 arrows about 5x per week.  I like to shoot all year long.

No chance, but I haven't had time to shoot lately.   Not liking it.

Rarely shoot at a bulls eye.  Few arrows a week at a hanging curtain to keep my basics sharp.  At the beginning of the year I shoot a good bit for product testing.  And if I make a new string I shoot 100 arrows just to be sure I made it right and the peep does not twist.  But practice for hunting very little.

Pain is a big factor for me.  I would probably hit the 3-D range more than once every other year if the enjoyment was stronger than the pain.  Unfortunatley that is not often the case anymore.

I dont shoot every day in the off season , I will hit the range a few times before the season and at night acouple times a week i will shoot at 15 yards at home . I pracitce drawing back with my eyes closed and finding my anchor point then opening my eyes making sure my peep is centered. practice uphill and down pivoting at the waist . once the season starts I will throw one or two out of my hunting set up daily just to make sure .

I guessbi just shoot a lot. I throw atleast 40-50 arrows down range 5-6 times a week. I do have to ahoot a little more so my muscles in my back dont weaken. Ever since I hurt myself if I dont shoot atleast every other day I feel pain coming back :bash:

Kind of off on a tangent, but you mentioned a few fliers.  One thing that I do is mark my arrows on the fletchings(1-12).  As I shoot I keep track of fliers, if I find that arrow #3 is a flier a few times I pull it out of the bunch.  Come hunting season I use the arrows that hit the mark the most often.  Normally out of a dozen I have 1-3 fliers that are consistant fliers.

Just my  :twocents:
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.
