Nissan Outboards?
«

Thinking of buying a 9.9 Nissan, mostly because they weigh about 16 pounds less than anyone else's, which can make a difference on the back of a small boat. Anyone with good or bad experiences with them?

Not a big fan of them. I know a few folks who bought them with their dinghies from West Marine and all have had issues with them. They are okay if you are using them occasionally but do not stand up to regular to heavy usage. You would be better off in the long run to go with a Yamaha.

I forgot about this thread.... Ordered a Honda 9.9 yesterday. I would have preferred the Yamaha but Yamaha does not offer their short shaft with an electric start. I could have aftermarketed it but it would have ended up costing more than the Honda.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

You can't go wrong with either a Honda or Yamaha! Good purchase!
