Sprague cats and Moses walleye***random****
« on: July 16, 2013, 08:29:04 PM »
Planned a double wamy this week. Spend the day on Sprague after cats. Only one bite. Planning on hitting Moses tomorrow for walleye. Waves got pretty big today. Woulda sunk if I didn't have half a brain and boating experience. Anyways has anyone had success with cats on sprague wdfw says the stock em but I couldn't tell.

Also any tips for Moses walleye? Will be my first time ever for walleye. Was planning on using a drops hot.

Thx!

You should try trolling plugs, worm harness/bottomwalker combos for the walleyes on moses. Cover as much water as you can. The best bite happens early, dawn to midmorning.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

They put more than trout in there. Large mouth, bluegill crappie and cats. No walleye or smallmouth.

So Sprague is still walleye free?  That sucks.  I'd hoped they'd gotten back in there by now

I loved that lake before they killed it.  Swore I wouldn't be back until the walleye were back.  Haven't been back either.

Ya, I'm  surprised there not back in there yet. I used to drive from Moses to fish it, now I just drive right by and when I do go by there might be 1 to 3 boats out there. But hey, we have another trout lake.

I had heard that they restocked the cats and was wondering how they were doing.
I know they have been catching good numbers of large trout, but haven't heard about the panfish/bass etc.

Have heard of some decent bass being caught but nothing else. They did use the cats they took out for brood stock

I spent the majority of the day on sprague. Fished a drop shot and a bottom rig with a float to suspend it. Beef live, worms and shad. No luck. I'm not sure the lake was deep enough for that though. The spots I read about people catching em are ony about 5 feet deep. Oh we'll that's fishin. You live you learn. It's the final day of my weekend and I'm going to my proven spot... Silver.

Btw go fish on the wdfw website is pretty helpful.  Has proven sucessful yet but it seems accurate. It also tells you what they stock in lakes.

It would probably be worth it to just drive 50 miles south and fish the snake for the cats
