lost a good friend today
« on: July 19, 2013, 08:42:33 PM »
Today i put down my 15 year old dachshund.  she had a stroke last night and lost all but her neck movment.  we drove her to tacoma and had it done where my wife worked for almost 10 years and Elsa would  go to work with her daily.  she will be missed dearly!

Sorry for your loss.  I'm dealing with a similar thing.  14 yr old lab is having kidney failure.  He's still mobile and drinking water, but hasnt really eaten in a week.  Probably going to have to put him down in the next couple days, but its a hard decision.

Last night my 2 1/2 year old went and found her old collar and brought it to my wife.  He was concerend that he couldnt find Elsa.  Not sure why he now misses her, it seemed he didnt even notice when she was gone the first day?    Then I think of all the things him and that dog did together and how she has always been by his side.  Hopefully I can find a replacement dog soon.
