Thanks, went late in the day both days to miss the other people.  Would have limited out if I were a better/quicker shot...

Wiley seemed to pick up a scent, get birdy and then would lose the scent.  RJ said that he didn't like the pheasant in his mouth, once he got the bird he wouldn't give it back to me.  lol  All in all we had a great time!

Part of the wetside chicken game, many times that bird has allready been moved by someone you didn't get a glimpse of just minutes earlier, the chickens will also run a little bit too, nothing like a bird in the east but they run alittle bit.Your dog is very young at 8 months,he'll figure it out with experiance, just keep doin what your doin, :tup:Oh and don't make a huge deal out of it if he won't give it up.

He got lots of praise for getting the bird.  His check cord kept getting caught on things so I removed it.  After I shot the bird it ran about ten feet before Wiley snatched him up.  He was on him fast.  Pretty happy with the dog so far and can't wait for this weekend!

Great looking photo & pup!!
I want to know how you got that pup to look so calm and hold that close to the bird in front of him!!

SWEEEEET!
Few things in life will put a grin on your face like that will.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Very well said!  Only thing that could have been better is if my boy shot it...
